IShowSpeed has arguably the biggest Cristiano Ronaldo fan. The American YouTuber initially gained fame for his gaming videos, where his unusual reactions made waves on the internet. Ultimately, he started gaining more attention as time passed, and he expanded his horizons and entered the soccer world as well.
Speed, aka Darren Watkins Jr, has revealed to the world that he is a CR7 superfan. There have been countless times when he has tried to meet the Portuguese superstar, especially during his second stint at Manchester United. However, it was only a few hours ago that the youngster got to finally meet the icon in real life. He also posted the full video to his YouTube channel.
Portugal played against Bosnia and Herzegovina recently in the Euro Qualifiers. The game took place in Benfica, Portugal. Bruno Fernandes grabbed a brace and another assist for the Os Navegadores. After the game, Ronaldo was about to leave the stadium, only to be stopped by teammate Rafael Leao.
During their brief meeting, CR7 mentions, “My son told me, that you’re going to be here.” It surely looks like Ronaldo intended to meet the content creator, judging from the fact that he was aware of Speed’s presence. It is not a huge surprise that Ronaldo’s son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, is aware of Speed as well. After all, the pair were even reportedly on a call in the past.
Ronaldo made a fairytale return to Old Trafford in September 2021. The soccer world was left baffled by his first game back when he found the net twice against Newcastle. His goals and iconic celebration had the Theatre of Dreams on its feet. His family moved to England with him as well, including his oldest son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr.
It is no secret that Ronaldo Jr has the talent to make it in the sport, judging from the highlight clips that he often impresses fans with. He was part of the Man Utd academy when he was at Manchester. It was during this time when he allegedly shared some time with IShowSpeed on FaceTime.
This wasn’t the only time Speed contacted Ronaldo Jr. In 2022, he claims to have called him but wasn’t allowed to film it. Speed also posted this Snapchat call to his YouTube channel. The video has gained 3.4 million views until now and remains increasing.
It is wholesome to see that Speed finally met his idol after failing several times. He traveled to Qatar in December 2022 in hopes of seeing Ronaldo up close but it was to no avail. It would also be safe to claim that Speed would be delighted to know that Ronaldo is aware of his existence.
